On Tuesday 3rd March, we went straight into stringing all of our shots together, making the sequence run smoothly and all the transitions to fit and look good. We also had to start cutting clips so sound did not over lap and sound strange. Kingsley came back up and started editing at lunch and made things look a lot smoother and better. Then me and Ollie stayed behind at school from 6:30-9:00 shortly afterwards joined by Kinglsey. Here we put the final touches to the editing and then started to try and incorporate music into our sequence. We used a lot of ambient sound with high reverb as we felt this fit our sequence well, it took us a while to find the right sounds, but as we were looking through them we slowly started to find things we could piece together and incorporate into our sequence.
We started putting in our credits on Wednesday the 4th of March, we were given a list of what we were to include, and slowly but surely we began to insert all the necessary credits. We made up production companies and names of the produce, director etc.. For our titles we used the font copperplate, then font size 100 for the names and 40 for less significant words. We changed the font because the first font we used, we felt looked to plain and did not fit the sequence, however copperplate looked different and therefore we though it was a good fit. We also felt that our sequence was to long to be an opening title sequence, so we decided to start trimming down some of the shots. This took a while, however i would say it benefited us in the long term, because it allowed there to be more tension created which was what we were hoping to achieve.
Thursday 5th March was our last full day of editing, we started putting finishing touches onto the sequences. Making certain cuts smoother, moving some of the shots about and moving some of the credits around. We listened over the music to make sure it ran well within the sequence, and matched the actions that were happening on screen which would create effect. Later that evening our Thriller was uploaded to you tube.
However since then we have had to make a few little tweaks. For example we found that we had spelt association wrong in one of our titles so that had to be amended. Also we found that in two of our shots, we could hear us say action so we had cut this sound out as well. Then our video was re uploaded to YouTube with now, no mistakes.
I did enjoy the editing, however i found the actual filming of our thriller a lot more fun and interesting.
