Scene analysis

My scene is the opening from the James bond casino royale, as its long i have only analyzed the first two minutes of the scene. This scene is one of the best openings to most films i have senen, definitley the best out of all of the Bond films.

  • Firstly i like this scene as it goes straight into the action, there is no long, boring opening sequence.
  • As soon as the chase begins we get a shot reverse shot of Daniel Craig as he jumps over the fence. Then goes to point of view (POV) of the enemy running away.
  • Then the camera tilts and we get an overview of the whole set.
  • Goes to close up of enemy, the POV of him looking for James Bond.
  • Slow mo of truck smashing through the fence, then POV of Bond scouting for the enemy.
  • Constant crane shot gives us a complete overview of scene, and allows us to see everything that is happening.
  • It cuts about evey three seconds so we can see evrything that is going on.
  • Every now and then there is a two shot, which allows us to see how close the men are in comparison to each other.
  • The explosion could foreshadow later events to happen in the film.
  • constant change of camera angles allows us to have an overview of the situation.
