Camera Lesson

The first thing we had to do in the camera lesson, was to get out the tripod and set it up. We firstly has to carefully take it out the bag an then open it. Once this was done we unlocked all of the legs, held the head of the tripod and adjusted it to the height at which we wanted it.  Then we put on the handle.
After this we had to set up the camera on to the tripod, this involved sliding it into a gap carefully and then locking it into place so it didn't slip out. Also as the camera is top heavy we had to be very careful that we locked it or it could easily just fall off. Then we had to bubble the camera, which ensures that it is central.
The camera that we used was called the sony NX5
During the lesson we learned to use all of its functions, varying from brightness and focus to white balance.
After learning all about the camera we got to use it, this involved shooting some shots, in the groups i worked in, our acting was done by Lauren and Igor, and then Kingsley.

With the help of the teachers we consolidated our knowledge on the 180 degrees rule, with the use of a toy Ferrari.

We also used a monitor to play back our shots and see what they looked like all together.
Overall the lesson was really beneficial as it showed us the overview of how to use the camera. I enjoyed it as now i feel as if i can use the camera and would be able to film decently.
