Kill Bill-sound analysis
This scene is a great builder of tension and emotion and all of this is shown through the use of sound in this clip. The first sounds we hear in this scene is the hammering shut of the coffin which straight away builds tensions and makes us think what is happening? the hammering is followed by very heavy breathing from Beatrix. Then we what sounds like the covering of the coffin in dirt, thus burying her alive. With each crash of dirt being poured on top her breathing gets heavier and more distressed which adds to the emotion of the scene. Following this we hear her grunting and trying to kick the lid of the coffin open to escape. With each kick she groans louder and louder further adding to the emotion of the scene. When she realizes she cant get out her breathing relaxes, then the last sound we hear is what sounds like a light going of which could suggest that her struggle is over.
