I think that opening credits are important to all films. They are on of the first thing the audience sees so they need to stand out. Uses of different fonts, colours and movement of the credits are just some of the ways you can make them better. For example if they are in on corner of the screen, viewer focus will be there, where as if they roll across the screen the viewers eye will follow that. With the opening credits the film shouldn't go into anything important as the credits will be what the viewer may be focussing on. However the scene should also entice the viewer so that they will go on to watch the film further.
Many films have used opening credits really well, so here from- Watchmojo- are some of the best movie opening credits.

Location and Storyline changes
Due to the change in our storyline the location of our sequence has also changed. We went up to the media room and discussed our idea and came out with a few changes. One of these changes was that we could make our opening sequence be based in a hotel like environment, and therefore would be filmed in cornhill as it used to be a hotel, and the room numbers are still there and some signs still remain.
With the storyline instead of using a safe to hide the hard drive we are hiding up in a ceiling tile which can be moved. Then instead of going to his house, the men after him go and ask about him at the 'hotel' reception. Then he leaves the building from a different exit, preferably a fire exit, then setting of the fire alarm, runs to his car and drives away, which suggests he is much smarter than the men think he is.

Stepfather opening- Ollie's blog
This opening title sequence from the stepfather is not entirely useful in helping us with ideas for my own opening title sequence. However it was useful to show me that something as ordinary as dying your hair, or shaving can be made to look so creepy just by organizing utensils in a straight line and by adding some sinister music.
Kill Bill-sound analysis
This scene is a great builder of tension and emotion and all of this is shown through the use of sound in this clip. The first sounds we hear in this scene is the hammering shut of the coffin which straight away builds tensions and makes us think what is happening? the hammering is followed by very heavy breathing from Beatrix. Then we what sounds like the covering of the coffin in dirt, thus burying her alive. With each crash of dirt being poured on top her breathing gets heavier and more distressed which adds to the emotion of the scene. Following this we hear her grunting and trying to kick the lid of the coffin open to escape. With each kick she groans louder and louder further adding to the emotion of the scene. When she realizes she cant get out her breathing relaxes, then the last sound we hear is what sounds like a light going of which could suggest that her struggle is over.

Cast list
For our main character we think we have decided on hiring Simon Hudson an Ex hurtwood teacher, now a professional actor, as he would easily be able to fit our character image with his experience and knowledge of the industry. He has also been in previous opening sequences and done a good job so we know he will be reliable.
Then for our two mean after our main character we are using both Adam Grant and Juan Sedeno, as we feel as if they could fit the character profile well. Plus Adam has had a lot of experience in this kind of thing before which would be helpful.
Thriller rough cut
We went out of class and tried to get all the shots we needed for our thriller. It made us realize some problems, but the aim of the task was to get all of our shots edited into one clip
